NomadIT designs responsive websites – custom coded, Wordpress, Joomla, Open Journal System (OJS) and a range of other platforms. We also integrate our own apps with content management systems. From two simple pages with your contact details, to a fully interactive site where members can login and alter information directly online, NomadIT can help, partially or completely. We can register the domain name of your choice, host your website, give advice on structure, design and deploy, and take care of ongoing backups and maintenance.
While each client has specific needs and requires a tailored quote, it might help to give a sense of our fees. For a WordPress site with perhaps two or three different page layouts, we'd charge ~60 hours at £43/hour plus VAT.
Below are examples of websites we have designed and which we currently manage. In addition, we also maintain websites which have been developed for our clients by external developers.
NomadIT helps academics get their research into the public domain: whether they wish to do this by running a journal, posting a blog, or recording videos. As a registered publisher with CrossRef, we can assign DOIs to academic outputs.
NomadIT were an early-adopter of the open-access and open-source Open Journal Systems (OJS), and currently run and maintain two OJS journals: Anthropology Matters and Teaching Anthropology.
While the publishing software is free, it takes a degree of expertise to keep it updated, and an understanding outlook to train new editors to use the platform!
