Short Abstract
Public universities in Kenya have invested in ICT to equip students with the digital skills to enable them access information, support learning and comprehend difficult concepts and, communicate within and without themselves. As such it is compulsory for students to undertake ICT introductory class
Description
The introduction of compulsory introductory course in ICT is aimed at equipping the students with the necessary skills to fit in the ICT environment of learning and expose them to digital literacy. Unfortunately, though universities have invested in ICTs, there is a considerable gap in the expected and actual use of ICTs in learning. In order to understand this, it is necessary to establish the learner's competency levels in the use of ICT and explore the challenges they face in the use of ICTs in learning.
