Short Abstract:

Socio-economic development of regions plays a key role in economic development of the country as it is considered the basis of the national economy. So any policy making should take all regional development features into account in order to foster sustainable development of the country altogether.

Long Abstract:

The Kyrgyz Republic is a mountanous, landlocked country in Central Asia. At present time, regional or rural development is the main objective of numerous national programs because about 60% of total population reside in rural areas and 40% of total working age engage in agriculture. As the basis of national economy, socio-economic development of regions should be approached constructively, comprehensively and integrally. Therefore, the panel will address the issues regarding unemployment in the country as a global issue, financing agriculture to ensure food security, the role of taxes in the economic sustainability of the country and the concept of sustainable rural development. In the papers, the authors will provide their studies done for discussion and futher recommendations and actions.
