Short Abstract:
The Editors-in-Chief of the RAI’s Teaching Anthropology Journal will discuss the aims and scope of the journal, the TA blog and available resources, and opportunities for publications and Special Issues. They will be on hand to answer all questions.
Long Abstract:
Teaching Anthropology (TA) is an RAI, peer-reviewed, open-access journal dedicated to the teaching of anthropology. It promotes dialogue and reflection on anthropological pedagogies in schools, colleges, universities and beyond. We also welcome content from cognate disciplines that explore the teaching of culture and difference, as well as ethnographic and alternative research methods.
Collecting together a diverse range of submissions, TA provides a repository of how teaching is evolving in anthropology. It is intended to be a practical resource to inspire and stimulate current pedagogical practice and push forward disciplinary knowledge and debate.
The journal brings together a range of formats and resources, from full length peer reviewed articles to shorter Developing Teaching reports, as well as interviews with prominent anthropologists or educators that reflect on the evolution of their teaching. We particularly welcome innovative content and invite authors to discuss potential submissions that do not fall within the usual formats.
In this session, we encourage participants to learn more about the journal, the various ways they can publish through us, discuss future papers or Special Issues, and the available roles within the journal’s editorial team.
