Long Abstract
How can we learn to live on earth in new ways? This is the overarching question of the new ERC-Synergy project "Land and life in the Anthropocene: Landscape reform (LAND)". The project aims to develop a conceptual framework that draws on insights from environmental humanities, political ecology, political economy and land-use system science to investigate the possibilities for more sustainable and just rural landscapes, with case studies in Indonesia, Zimbabwe, Colombia and Spain. The workshop will introduce the project's main conceptual and methodological approach, which will be subsequently discussed by Judith Krauss (University of York), Lucía Muñoz Sueiro (Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona), and Soledad Castro (University of Zurich). The audience will also be encouraged to participate and a light lunch will be served afterwards.
