Session 1 Saturday 25 June, 2022, -Contribution short abstract:
Communications became an essential part of the Uzbek government’s agenda since 2016. To earn credibility both in the international arena and within the country, the new leadership set a goal to distance itself from the image of the previous era and to get rid of pending issues for which it was criticized. Although significant progress has been made in this area, the government lacks a strategic approach toward communications practices, and prioritizing promotion of its activity over communications with the society. The speaker will highlight the key achievements and challenges of Uzbekistan’s communication practices, and provide relevant recommendations on the ways to improve them.
