Short Abstract:

The project will be a discussion with an analytical review and analysis of democracy and gender equality in Turkmenistan, giving an opportunity to have a basic insight into the state and governmental institutions in Turkmenistan and understand the gender-based values and norms in Turkmen culture.

Long Abstract:

The proposed project will be the FIRST-ever discussion with an analytical review and analysis of democracy and gender equality in Turkmenistan, giving an opportunity to have a basic insight into the state and governmental institutions in Turkmenistan and understand the gender-based values and norms in Turkmen culture. The project intends to be divided into two main sections: the first will examine the beliefs, values, and understanding of terms of democracy and gender equality among Turkmen people from social-psychological and language-based aspects, while the second will provide an analytical report of democracy and gender equality in the country through the lens of political regime, foreign countries’ influences and governmental structure. The discussion will serve as a baseline to get the idea of gender governance in Turkmenistan, allowing learning the timeline of the formation of democratic and gender values in the country.
