Short Abstract

The new climatic regime is foregrounding again, for the better but also for the worse, the old question of which people live on which land. Hence the ancient connection between anthropology and geography is raised again. Except the common ground of culture for the former and nature for the latter have both disappeared in a hole. A new grounding is necessary. The lecture will try to sketch a new terrestrial metric building on the exhibition Critical Zones — Observatories for Earthly Politics (ZKM May-September 2020).
