Description

Cellist and composer Justyna Jablonska with musical guest will perform an original multimedia work featuring cello improvisation combined with live electronics, sound samples, vocal melodies and film projection. Drawing on her autoethnographic work and collection of field recordings, it explores the role of musical memories in the lives of Polish, Ukrainian and Roma Gypsy immigrants. This project was created with funding from Creative Scotland.

The performance will be followed by audience discussion and commentary by Dr. Nikki Moran, ethnomusicologist and Senior Lecturer in Music at the Edinburgh College of Art.
