Yi's traditions, local knowledge and experience of comform to the requests of the protection of women’s rights are applicable to all minority nationality areas. This project is broadly situated in the area of ‘protection of women's rights’.

Women of Yi is the a double role as ethnic minorities and female. Minority women is a special disadvantaged group in the activities of protection of women's rights and interests. In the prolonged course of its development, Yi people has formed its traditions of female worship and feminism. This phenomenon came from the worship of maternity and martial spirit remained in social consciousness. It greatly promoted the development in social harmony and enriched the Chinese traditional culture. In the prolonged course of its development, Yi people has formed its traditions, local knowledge and experience of comform to the requests of the protection of women's rights. These principles are applicable to all minority nationality areas. Based on this, we should carry forward these fine traditions of Yi's people, and explore, practice and build up the model of protection of women's rights and inheritance of ethnic traditional culture.
