The Nakhi group is an ethnic minority group with slightly northern origins that is mainly located in the old city of Lijiang, Yunan, China. In December 1997, Lijiang succeeded in declaring its heritage to the world and once more the harmonious culture and essence of the ancient city of Lijiang was presented to the world.

One of Lijiang's special cultural attractions is the Nakhi women dressed in their traditional costumes. Upon observing these women, one can see that they are rustic and warm-hearted, as well as independent and able to easily fend for themselves.
