Development Studies (DS) has matured as a field, marked by the 50 years plus anniversaries of DS journals, institutes and departments. The European Association of Development Research and Training (EADI), celebrates its 50th anniversary in 2024/25. While DS appears robust in terms of journals, associations, and student numbers, this roundtable reflects on its current state and discusses and launches a special issue of papers focused on framings of development; the universality or not of development and questions of decolonisation and anti-imperialism. The panel is hybrid.
