This roundtable aims to tackle global inequality from a variety of angles, including climate, finance and vaccines. It brings leading scholars together who take a Global South-centric view of these major structural problems to present their views of the problems and to propose and discuss solutions.

This roundtable aims to tackle global inequality from a variety of angles, including climate, finance and vaccines. It brings leading scholars together who take a Global South-centric view of these major structural problems to present their views of the problems and to propose and discuss solutions.
Laura Carvalho is Associate Professor of Economics at the University of São Paulo. Her research focuses on topics in macroeconomics and development economics, and particularly on the relationship between economic growth and income distribution. She is also the author of the best-selling book "Valsa Brasileira: do boom ao caos econômico" on the rise and fall of the Brazilian economy, published in Brazil in 2018.
Arjun Jayadev is the Director of the School of Arts and Sciences at Azim Premji University in Bangalore, India. He is also a Senior Economist at the Institute for New Economic Thinking and was an inaugural post-doctoral fellow at the Committee on Global Thought, Columbia University. His research combines quantitative and theoretical analysis of finance, development, political economy and intellectual property.
Ndongo Samba Sylla is a development economist and activist at the Rosa Luxemburg Foundation in Dakar, Senegal. He previously worked as a technical advisor at the Presidency of the Republic of Senegal. His publications cover topics such as fair trade, labour markets in developing countries, social movements, democratic theory, economic and monetary sovereignty. His most recent book is Africa's Last Colonial Currency - The CFA France Story (2021).
