Contribution short abstract:

This presentation is focused on an interdisciplinary project which uses architectural infrastructures of the city to create community storytelling combining participatory process and photography.

Contribution long abstract:

The starting point of this project is based on a collaboration between an anthropologist, an architects and an urban artists. To finance the project, we decided to apply for the Berliner ProjektFonds Urbane Praxis 2025. The actual cuts to the cultural budget in Berlin eliminated this possibility and we have to look for alternative financial sources. This, together with legal, logistical and social aspects are only some of the challenges that we have to deal with to materialise a project on communal infrastructure of the city. In this presentation, I will use these challenges as a story line to describe the project and open dialogues with the audience of the lab.

Throughout the presentation, I will also use other projects, in which we have participated to explore conceptual and practical aspects such as visuality of under-represented social groups, political claims or participatory urbanism.

In this context, I propose to use the presentation to put in practice one of the stages of our project in which we use the role of Water Towers in the city as a source of collective creativity. We would love to developed this practice within the audience of the lab.
