Uzbekistan audiovisual mediaspace problems and solutions

Abstract:

In this article, on the basis of archival materials, personal observations of the author, articles published in media, conclusions arising from interviews with respondents, the 2016 President of Uzbekistan Sh.M.In connection with the election of Mirziyoev, the situations that arose in the Uzbek national audiovisual space were analyzed and aimed at finding solutions for it.

After achieving its independence, the Republic of Uzbekistan could not achieve positive results in the field of press freedom. Uzbekistan was ranked 166th in 2016 in the Press Freedom Index, compiled by Reporters Without Borders International on the basis of press freedom indicators in about 180 countries. President Sh.Mirziyoev made several important statements about the situation in Uzbekistan in recent years in the same year. As a result, a number of non-governmental TV channels were opened, citizens freely spoke about socio-political problems on TV. the live broadcast was restored," prohibitions " were opened, Solutions began to be offered, Internet sites, the blogosphere developed.

Today, in Uzbekistan, state-owned, non-profit-oriented non-governmental channels operate, which serve its propaganda, allocate more than half a trillion budget money to its spending annually; the audience forms its own content according to its desires, works on the rating. Despite the fact that in the conditions of mediaconvergence, they are posting their programs on the social network, the blogosphere, local and foreign Internet sites are taking the field as a serious competitor to them.

International Media Service (IMS PR.uz in a survey conducted according to the results of the analysis of viewing TV channels of Uzbekistan according to the order of redaction, not state TV channels, but non-state TV channels like favorite TV, excellent TV, My5 I national TV took the top places in the rating(August 2023).
