Abstract:

This study unveils the outcomes of a survey undertaken among 9,600 sixth-grade rural schoolchildren in Kazakhstan in 2024, who actively participated in the Rural School Olympiad, totaling 90,000 participants. The questionnaire delved into various facets encompassing media consumption patterns, trends in the utilization and comprehension of emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence, and the allocation of leisure time among schoolchildren. Analytical methods such as descriptive, correlation, and factor analyses were employed to scrutinize the gathered data. The surveyed cohort represents Generation Alpha, born after 2000, thus accentuating the significance of the findings in delineating contemporary trends in media consumption.
