Interests: Examines how faith-based low-fee private schools (FB-LFPS) in Ethiopia navigate developmental challenges, including regulatory constraints, resource scarcity, and educational equity. Applies institutional theory, critical realism, and development ethics to analyze the interplay of religious, market, and state logics in grassroots educational provision. Research contributes to debates on non-state education, mission drift, and the role of faith actors in development governance. Teaches and develops curricula on development studies, organizational theory, and theology and development in the context of Christian higher education in Asia.
Regional Focus: Ethiopia – Empirical focus of PhD research on hybrid schooling models and institutional pluralism in low-resource settings. Japan – Academic platform for research-led teaching on development and organizational practice.
