The Society for Latin American Studies held its annual conference in 2013 at the University of Manchester, welcoming over 250 academics to the two-day event. The conference had over 40 panels running in parallel streams, covering many diverse aspects of Latin American studies, in keeping with the broad interests of our membership and the multidisciplinary coverage of SLAS’s journal, the Bulletin of Latin American Research.
The keynote speaker was Walter Mignolo, the renowned cultural studies scholar and a leading figure of coloniality/decolonial studies.
