Karolina Echaust (Adam Mickiewicz University in PoznaƄ)

Paper short abstract:

Heritage is a multifaceted category characterized by variability in socio-cultural relations. My presentation aims to demonstrate the development of the protection of intangible cultural heritage within the complexity context of interspecies relations.

Paper long abstract:

Heritage is a multifaceted category characterized by variability in socio-cultural relations. My presentation aims to demonstrate the development of the protection of intangible cultural heritage within the complexity context of interspecies relations. History, practice, and bees encompass more than mere heritage. Through my field research, I am exploring innovative methodologies, frameworks, and metalanguages to comprehend the complex world of multispecies interactions among humans. Tree-beekeeping, as a form of heritage, can be integrated into a transdisciplinary platform that seeks to understand the present and future of our world. Bees represent a complex natural-human system. In this case, my anthropology not only provides directions for new theoretical frameworks, heritage methodologies, and metalanguages but also offers insights into living beings.
