The National Center of Archaeology, Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan, was established relatively recently (2019), but is already charting a new approach to the field - particularly the integration of anthropological and sociological methods.

The National Center of Archaeology, Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan, was established relatively recently (2019), but is already charting a new approach to the field - particularly the integration of anthropological and sociological methods. This roundtable assembles scholars from the Center to reflect on developments in the last several years since the Center's founding: What are the exciting new trends in archaeology in Uzbekistan? How do cross-disciplinary methods enrich the study of material culture of the past? Where does the Center go from here?
