Detailed technical requirements for the cultural plenary [Do not publish this publicly]
Raphael Ng (HHL Leipzig Graduate School of Management) Erdal Bayraktar

Paper short abstract:

This cultural plenary shall consist of music and visual arts performances. The following abstract details some of the anticipated technical setups that will be needed for the session.

Paper long abstract:

The following technical requirements are needed to provide an optimal performance environment for the live show at the plenary session "Hibrit Capabilitica: Hidden Capabilities, Invisible Practitioners":

The plenary consists of music as well as visual performances. For music performances, the set-up includes:

Microphones: Condenser microphones to accurately capture the nuanced sounds of accordion and acoustic guitar. For electric guitars, a combination of direct input boxes and guitar amplifiers with microphones will ensure a clear projection of electric tones. Wind instruments such as flute and saxophone require clip-on or stand-mounted condenser microphones that can handle their dynamic range and complexity.

Sound Mixing Board and PA System: A mixing board with sufficient channels for all instruments and microphones, paired with quality PA speakers, is required to balance and project the performance. On-stage monitors will allow the performers to hear themselves and each other.

Sound Engineer: An experienced sound engineer will manage volume levels, EQ settings and overall sound mix during the performance, ensuring clarity and balance between instruments.

To integrate the visual art component, where an artist will paint a picture on stage, the technical requirements expand to include

A blank wall of 2.3 meters height and 3 meters length to mount drawing surface.

High Definition Cameras: Cameras positioned to capture the artist's drawing process so that the live feed can be projected onto screens for the audience to view.

Projection Screens or LED Screens: Large, high-resolution screens strategically placed around the venue to display the live artwork creation and make it visible to all participants.

Video Mixer/Changer: Required to manage the flow of video from the cameras to the screens, allowing for seamless transitions and integration of additional visual content if required.

Technical Team: Including the audio engineering team as well as a video technician to handle live video streaming and camera operations. This team ensures that both audio and visual elements are seamlessly integrated during the performance.

Internet Connectivity: The necessary connectivity must be in place for simultaneous streaming of the footage on YouTube. (Only when online streaming licenses have been secured).

This technical set-up ensures that the diverse musical talents of HDCA members are optimally showcased in combination with live art creation, enriching the cultural and creative impact of the session.
