This presentation explores how Indigenous communities in Latin America are reclaiming cultural heritage as a common good, challenging historical processes of uncommoning rooted in colonialism, capitalism, and institutional neglect. It argues that heritage practices must be grounded in human rights, particularly those that enshrine Indigenous peoples’ rights to access, steward, and manage their cultural belongings.
