Hamid Ismailov, the renowned Uzbek expatriate author and poet, examines the ways Central Eurasian authors shape cultural and political conversations in their home countries, as well as what they can contribute to transnational conversations about censorship, migration, ethnicity, and the arts. He will discuss the unique role of artists-in-exile, not only in representing Central Eurasian cultures abroad, but also in building border-crossing networks of solidarity.
